Observations as I learn to make jewelry

  1. Practice more, complain less
  2. Be nice to yourself
  3. Understand that you can’t be a perfectionist after two whole weeks
  4. Let your materials guide you
  5. White knuckles never help
  6. Don’t strangle everything you touch
  7. Wear crummy, comfy clothes
  8. Try not to get hurt
  9. Keep your eyes open
  10. One thing at a time
  11. Breathe
  12. Take your time
  13. Have a plan, but deviate from it and see where you end up
  14. Mistakes add character
  15. Stop comparing yourself to everyone else (especially the people who have been doing this for years!)
  16. You can let this be fun. Really, you can.
